My work with corporate groups and conferences is a natural outgrowth of my two-year drumming journey in Africa, as well as my life-long passion for exploring the ways we humans create and sustain thriving communities and cultures. 

Long ago, I realized that the core principles of group drumming are the same fundamental principles that helped communities worldwide (including, and especially, corporations) thrive:  I call these the "Three C's of Community: Communicating, Cooperating & Celebrating!  I've designed purpose-driven group drumming programs to present, and reinforce, these principles in down-to-earth, fun ways!

Community Events:
Celebrations, Festivals, Fund Raisers - Building Powerful & Productive Community Rhythms!

I've been blessed to visit communities of all types, and to participate in special events, partner with local people and learn about the many ways in which people worldwide live their lives.

I was especially proud and humbled to be invited to participate in a tribute event for ground-breaking African drummer, composer, educator and social activist Babatunde Olatunji.  This event took place in April of 2001 in Middletown, New York and brought in percussionists from the worldwide drumming community to show respect for our friend and mentor Baba.  Baba left us on April 6, 2003.

Baba: I miss your presence as a friend, as an inspirational elder and as a musician.  Among the many, many lessons I learned from you include how to live this life with integrity as a musician, as a man and as a human being.  Baba, your Spirit lives in our hearts and speaks through our drumming!

These photos were taken at a drum circle that I facilitated during Baba's event in Middletown.  This was just one of many activities that were conducted by people over the course of the Tribute.

As a proud parent, and an "elder", I cherish the time I spend with young people.  They are my teachers and my inspiration.  I am privileged to be able to do what I love to do with young people who are just beginning to find their own passions in life. Rhythm activities, when driven by focused intentions, are a fun and exciting way to reinforce many of the fundamental principles of creating a life-long pursuit of living life with purpose, patience, perseverance and passion!

Recent clinical studies have demonstrated what we've known and enjoyed for thousands of years... focused drumming is fun and good for us!  I've dedicated my life to sharing the physical, mental and emotional benefits of purpose-driven rhythm-play worldwide with people from all walks of life.  In fact, I use Rhythm-play as a fun and engaging vehicle for helping people, (myself included!) create and reinforce real-world Life Skills and Life Rhythms... to replace negative patterns with powerful and productive Life patterns of thought and action.
