Jim Greiner is a world-renowned percussion educator and community drumming leader ("One of America's leading percussion educators" - Latin Percussion Instruments) ("A master community drumming leader"- the Percussive Arts Society). Since 1980, Jim has presented hundreds of interactive rhythm-based programs to empower, focus and motivate young people of all ages. Long ago, Jim recognized that the core principles underlying learning and playing percussion instruments are the same, down-to-earth principles that are the foundation of productive Life Skills. His award-winning programs use playing rhythm instruments as a fun, uplifting vehicle for young people to learn and to reinforce these universal, fundamental Life Skills, and to use them to create powerful, productive Life Rhythms... patterns of attitude and action! Drumming® Events Schools & Youth Groups Programs:
Percussion & Rhythm Around the World (30 to 90 minutes): An age-appropriate exploration of the way peoples around the world use what is found in their environment to create percussion instruments... and to make music together. A fun way to teach how to celebrate the diversity of cultures while also examining their similarities. Also explores elements of environmental studies, communication skills, setting and meeting goals, discipline and contributing to the community. School/District Rhythm Residency™ (one day to two weeks): An extended series of programs within a school or school district, or among neighboring districts. All grade levels from pre-school through university. Includes any combination of the programs listed in this section. Jim's work with school music departments can also be be combined into school-wide assemblies so the music students perform for/with, and inspire their school mates. A great way to share costs among multiple groups. See our Percussion Education section for more information about Jim's work with music students. Community Rhythm Residency™ (one day to two weeks): An extended stay in the community with rhythm programs for a wide range of community groups, including corporations, service organizations, schools/youth groups, community centers and others. Our CRR creates a true spirit of community across the full spectrum of people and organizations that make up the community. The CRR is can be sponsored by multiple local and regional groups, but often local corporations that bring Jim in to do his corporate programs become primary sponsors, and reap the rewards of being recognized as community benefactors. All instruments can be provided - and groups are welcome to use their own Programs available to fit a wide range of budgets, as well as all sound, time and space constraints. Small "take-away" percussion instruments, with or without your logo or theme imprinted, are also available for your group members as fun, playable mementos of your event.
